Leamer-Rosenthal Prize Winners in the News Again

Last year BITSS gave some of our first Leamer-Rosenthal Prizes for Open Social Science to David Broockman and Joshua Kalla. They just had a new paper published in Science, and are keeping up the transparency–the supplementary materials file points clearly to a data, code, and interview scripts archive on Harvard’s Dataverse. Their paper is on the topic of voter persuasion, and the New York Times Magazine has a nice piece about it. Apparently canvasser conversations with voters can actually persuade people (in this case to be less transphobic) but it doesn’t make a difference if the person doing the canvassing is themselves transgender or not.
