Open Science in Practice: A Pilot Initiative for Transparency and Reproducibility will strengthen research transparency and reproducibility by piloting open science practices within the Institute of Public Finance of Croatia. The project will deliver a one-day workshop introducing researchers and graduate students to key tools and methods, including preregistration, pre-analysis plans, data sharing, and computational reproduction. It will also produce a publicly available dataset with replication code and a short set of guidelines on how to share research outputs transparently. By combining training, infrastructure development, and dissemination, the initiative will build internal capacities while fostering a culture of openness in social science research. Although starting as a pilot within the Institute, the project is designed to be scalable and replicable across other institutions and networks, aligning with BITSS’s mission to catalyze durable improvements in transparency, reproducibility, and ethics in the social sciences.
